Silt Road is printed

Chatto has sent me two off-the-press copies of Silt Road and it looks fab. They have done an awesome job on the cover and design, the fonts, the photos, everything. It is, I have to admit, very satisfying to get to the far end of so much work and finally have the book in the hand. A few good reviews are appearing too – in BBC Countryfile and Wanderlust so far – which is really encouraging. And the feedback from those who have read it has been very good too. For years you fly at the sun with a self-supplied sense of purpose and no idea at all whether what you are engaged in is of any interest to anyone else … and so it is very heartening indeed to hear nice things.

The book can be pre-ordered now: just google-search ‘Silt Road The Story of a Lost River’ and Amazon et al come up as options.
