charles rangeley-wilson – writing about fishing, travel, rivers, conservation

Silver Shoals

SilverShoalsv2

Less than a week till my new magnum opus – Silver Shoals – hits the waves.

Some pretty good notices so far:

Jim Foster in Trout and Salmon magazine wrote: “This is one of the most important angling books of recent times – I urge you to read it.”

And Magnus Angus in Fly Fishing and Fly Tying wrote: “Quite brilliant … buy it!”

Obviously I couldn’t possibly comment, though I do believe that both are wise and discerning men.

Let’s say, if you’re in to fish or history or better still both, then I hope you will find it a diverting read. Where else are you going to find out how cod fishermen were the foundation of the British Empire, or that salmon follow the drowned courses of rivers at sea (my theory … as yet unproven)?

Available soon in all good book shops.
